Can new Dell customers remove Google Desktop from their computers?

A: Yes, the Google products can be removed from the system, but unfortunately can’t be shipped without it.

Uninstall Google toolbar:
· From Google Toolbar

1. Click on the Google logo to the left of the Toolbar search box.
2. Choose “Uninstall” or “Help” and then “Uninstall.”

3. Add comments about your experience with the Toolbar if you wish, then press the “Uninstall the Google Toolbar” button.

· From Windows Control Panel

1. Click on the Windows “Start” menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
2. Click on “Settings” > “Control Panel” > “Add or Remove Programs.”
3. Select “Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer” and click the “Change/Remove” button.

Uninstall Google Desktop:
· From Program file
· Click on the Windows “Start” menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
· Click on “Programs” > “Google Desktop” > “Uninstall Google Desktop”

From Windows Control Panel
1. Click on the Windows “Start” menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
2. Click on “Settings” > “Control Panel” > “Add or Remove Programs.”
3. Select “Google Dekstop” and click the “Change/Remove” button.

Changing the default homepage:
· Go to Internet Explorer > Tool > Internet Options > Homepage > Address and change home page to fit your needs.

Changing the default search engine:
· Go to Internet Explorer
· Click on “Search button” (with the magnifying glass logo)
· Click on “Custom”> “Customize” > “Use Search Assistant” Select search engine option that fits your needs

Uninstalling Google URL Assistant:

· Go to Control Panel – Add or Remove Programs
· Click on “URL Assistant”
· Click on “Change/Remove or Remove"
· Follow instructions to complete uninstallation of the Google URL Assistant
