Why does my browser not bring up the UCLAWLAN portal authentication page?
Some users may experience issues accessing the UCLAWLAN portal authentication page. If they are experiencing this issue, make sure check the following items:
- Have the user see if they can access http://www.bol.ucla.edu (this page should be accessible without authenticating)
- Have the user check to see if they can access the portal page directly by visiting: https://portal.auth.ucla.edu
- Have the user check to make sure that they are not in an area that requires VPN
- Have the user check to make sure that their TCP/IP settings are set for DHCP
If the user is on a Mac and is only experiencing issues while using the Safari browser, have them make sure that they do not have the BOL proxy enabled as it is known to cause issues.
